I can tell you that even though there is a minimum amount of paint on this bird, it still is and will always be one of the most eligant and beautiful aircraft that I have ever flown or rode in. The General took me to a place where most people can't go over on the flightline, and I must say that this plane mixed in with the newer fleet, just had a certain beauty all it's own. The mission of the air wing at Andrews AFB is mainly transportation - in other words they make sure the President gets to where he has to go, but also make sure the troops get to where they have to go. This aircraft was used most recently to bring home some of the troops from Iraq. Andrews AFB is also home to the Washington, DC Capitol Guardians, the Air National Guard unit that maintains F-16 Fighting Falcons to protect the airspace over our nations capitol.
